As of October 1, 2021: Hopewell Humane Society asks for a $120.00 non-refundable adoption fee to adopt a cat 6 years and younger. We have a $40.00 non-refundable adoption fee to adopt a cat 7 years.

At Hopewell Humane Society, we are looking for "Forever Homes" for our cherished cats and kittens, not "just until." We, therefore, carry out a stringent background check on all our applications and strive to make the best match for our cats. We do not adopt cats out as "gifts" and ask that everyone who will live with the cat(s) meets with them during the adoption process.
Why cats and especially kittens should be adopted in pairs:
You know how much fun it is to hang out with your friends? Well, our cats feel the same way! They've grown up at the shelter with many other feline buddies. They spend their days playing chase, grooming each other, and just generally being cat besties. Because they're so used to having constant companionship, bringing just one of our cats home might make them a little lonely. They're used to having a built-in playmate for those zoomies and cuddle puddles. Of course, every cat is an individual, and with lots of love and attention from you, a single cat can thrive! However, if you're looking to bring a cat into a home where they might be alone for more extended periods, or if you want to double the fun and the purrs, we always encourage considering adopting a pair. They'll keep each other entertained and happy, and you'll get to witness twice the adorable antics! Think about it – two furry friends bringing double the love and laughter into your life! We're happy to help you find a purrfect pair and would love to continue their adventures together in your home. What do you think?
