Nala
In Memory of Nala (originally known as Lillian)
Adopted. Cherished. Forever Loved.
Nala was an older cat who had been overlooked in the Hopewell Humane Society because of her shyness, anxiety, and older age. Her name was Lillian back then—but on February 3, 2020, I adopted her, gave her a new name, and a new beginning. From that day on, we chose each other.
She was quiet, gentle, and full of love once she felt safe. Nala became my constant source of comfort, my little shadow, and one of the most important parts of my life. She didn’t just share my home—she shared my heart. Letting her go was the most painful thing I’ve ever done, but I made sure she left this world knowing she was safe, held, and deeply loved.
I miss her every single day, but her love is still with me. Always. Thank you, Nala, for choosing me. I’ll carry you forever.
— Mickii, your mother for life.
Gatchinio
Gatchinio found us when we needed him the most! Thank god that he brought you into our lives!
He departed us on November 12th 2021 in my arms.
Gatchinio, you are Deeply loved, completely spoiled, and missed beyond words.
Cheeze Whiz
In Memory of Cheeze Whiz
Cheeze Whiz came into our lives the way some of the best souls do—unexpectedly and with so much love to give. He showed up outside our building, a friendly stray who seemed to know we were a safe place. Though he wouldn’t let us catch him at first, we made sure he was fed and cared for from a distance.
One day, we saw he had a serious bite wound, and finally, he let us bring him in. Sadly, the vet discovered he was FIV+, suffering from a severe unmanageable infection, and other medical complications. Though his time with us was short, he knew love, comfort, and care in his final days.
Cheeze Whiz crossed the rainbow bridge wrapped in love—and we like to think he’s now in a place where pain doesn’t exist and the wet food never runs out. He will always be remembered for his gentle spirit and brave heart.
Blinken
In Loving Memory of Blinken
Blinken found us the day after we moved in, like he knew we were meant to be his people. Though he technically belonged to a neighbor, he chose our porch—and our hearts—as his true home.
For 12 years, he greeted us at the top of the driveway, trotting down beside our car and following us to the porch like a loyal friend. He formed a sweet bond with our indoor cat, Socks, and when Socks slipped outside, we joked they were off on a boys-only adventure—Blinken teaching him the ways of the wild.
When it was cold, Blinken would come inside to curl up by the fire and rest on soft blankets, soaking in the warmth and love he so deserved.
Life hasn’t felt the same without him. We miss his presence every day and will always be grateful he chose us.

Socks
In Loving Memory of Socks
Socks found our family as a tiny kitten and gave us nearly 21 beautiful years of love. He earned his name from the white markings on his paws—but to us, he was always our Mr. Handsome.
Through every season of life, Socks was there. Whether we were sick, sad, or simply in need of comfort, he’d be curled up beside us, offering warmth, quiet strength, and unconditional love. His favorite pastime was sunbathing on the screened-in porch, watching birds and chatting with his best friend Blinken—the outdoor cat who became his buddy, even if most of their friendship was through the screen.
We miss him more than words can say, and we know there will never be another cat quite like him. He’ll always be our handsome boy, and always part of our hearts.
